Who is it for? 🎯

These classes are for you if:

1. You've completed level A1.1 or have some Portuguese basics; 

2. You started learning Portuguese and gave up;

3. You have Portuguese family/friends, can speak basic things and want to improve your skills.

4. You are studying Portuguese (very basic level), but you have NO opportunity to practice;

5. You feel blocked and want to improve your fluency;

6. You'd like to know how to talk to a restaurant, pharmacy, hospital, bakery, service, make an appointment, etc; 

How long it is? ⏳

Classes will last 1h15hour. This way, everyone will have the opportunity to speak and practice their Portuguese. The course lasts around 2 months.

How manystudents will there be? 🧑🏼‍🎓

There will be a maximum of 6 students. I want all participants to have many opportunities to interact.

When and where they are? 🗓️

We will use Zoom platform. 
The classes will be once a week.

📚 How it works? 🔧

1. Each week we will talk about a different topic;

2. We'll follow my book designed for A1.2 level. You'll receive one module per week and some extra activities in the online-school.

3. You will have access to a platform with self-correcting exercises, evaluated and viewed by me. Here also I will send articles/videos and homework/preparation for each class;

4. In class we will always study the various domains: orality, conversation, grammar, vocabulary and culture; 

5. We will share points of view, create discussions and learn from each other;

6. You will have access to the corrections I make during the class, as well as to the glossary of words/expressions learned;

7. If one week you can't come, I will send you the recording of the class so you can watch it at home.

Each weekly section has tons of videos, exercises, and resources to help you prepare for the week's lesson!

That way, you can be prepared for class and study at your own pace during the week.

What we are going to learn?

    — Talking about eating habits and preferences;

    — Meals (vocabulary);

    — Prepositions;

    — Adverbs.

  • — Going to a restaurant: useful phrases and expressions;

    — Presente do Indicativo: verbs irregular verbs;

    — Prepositions + pronouns; 

    — Food: characteristics and states; 

    — Portuguese chefs;

    — Portuguese gastronomy.

  • — The family: relatives and relationships;

    — Civil status;

    — Physical and psychological description;

    — Possessives;

    — Describing families.

  • — Identify the spaces in a house and the area; 

    — Describe the area where you live;

    — Ask for and give information (location, address, residence);

    — Sitting in space and talking about quantity.

  • — Talking about transportation, direction and movement;

    — Vocabulary related to transport; 

    — The prepositions para and por.

  • — Shopping and services;

    — Identify stores, products and items;

    — Identify and describe garments clothes;

    — Exchanging information and exchanging information and talking in a store.

    — Demonstrative pronouns and determiners (variable and invariable).

  • — Free time activities;

    — The daily routine (continued);

    — Proposing, accepting and refusing plans;

    — Verbs with reflexive pronouns;

    — Com + personal pronouns

    — Talking about activities, plans and preferences

  • — Differentiate between types of travel;

    — Communicating in semi-real travel situations (e.g. at the airport, ticket office, hotel...); 

    — Plan and present a travel plan. 

    — Essential vocabulary for traveling;

    — Variable and invariable indefinites;

    — Interrogatives (continued);

    — Prepositions of movement (continuation and summary).

  • — Portuguese regions and traditional products: dance, folklore, gastronomy, legends...; 

    — Interactive journey through the Portuguese regions and their traditions.

I'm Filipe, your Portuguese teacher

I'm 30, from Aveiro, but I've been living in Lisbon for a few years. I'm a quiet guy with a passion for languages, literature, travel and gastronomy. I also do some cool cooking, so they say. 

I studied at two Portuguese universities and completed my Masters in Portuguese Teaching in 2017. 

I've been working with students from different countries for about 8 years and I've almost lost count of how many I've helped. I've also worked in a few schools in Lisbon, with both native and foreign students.

I'm an optimistic and resilient teacher! My wish is to continue teaching my language and meeting people from all over the world. Can I count on you?
